Hello everybody. For about a year or so I was having a constant battle with algae, no idea what type but it was SOOO annoying. Anyway, in the end I gave up, just left it. Eventually, after reducing the amount of time I had the lights on, it actually went away. This was in March/April this year I would say. My tank had been completely clear of algae and almost spotless. I say almost, I have a pleco- what do you expect? ^.^ Anyway, last week I had to leave the tank in the hands of my cousin because I had to travel elsewhere. And what a massive mistake that was. I thought he was good at keeping fish. he assured me that it would be fine and he would keep it spotless. But the algae is back, obviously. Here's a pic:
