Algae In My Tank

The white pad is the filter floss, yes.
Don't replace the the gravel or rings or blue sponge. Just give the blue sponge one squeeze every month or so it water from the tank and make sure the gravel and rings don't get clogged every few months. If the filter floss is maintained properly then you should have no problem with the ring/gravel getting in a bad state.
The fish appear to be happy yes? And the algae is going, therefore I would continue to do what you are already doing. However as truck has said, adding only pure RO to the tank is bad and you should remineralize it. Here is a guide/article about doing that.
As for fish, you can check out Congo Tetras. They like to be in groups of 6+
