Yeah don't I just know it :(
makes me wish I'd gone low-tec.
I think the reg might be faulty I'm gonna take it to welding and fabrication at college and ask if they'll check it.

Good idea, let me know if they find something, I've recommended that reg to loads of people I would hate to know it was faulty.

Don't be too down heartened, yeh its crap but don't give up yet :)

Come to poppa!

BTW, sorry to hear that Garuf :shout: . If you want to continue with planted tanks etc, don't tell anyone I said this, but get a UV sterilizer :shifty: ....

I just bought a eheim 2224 but shhhh don't tell mother.

Ooooerrr! nice filters those Eheim Pro I's. VERY nice.

'tis another thing that will help combat algae - a good filter and good flow. The instant I added my external Eheim Ecco after removing the crappy internal Jewel filter I noticed much improvement. Also, use Zeolite in the filter as well - get as much ammonia out of that tank as possible!

Andy

I'll be using purigen in there so we're a-okay.

Ive got a 2222, excellent filter, nice and quiet too. Flow is a bit on the low side for me, but then it is the 'correct' size for my 20g, I should have got the 2224 if I wanted higher flow rates. Note to self, always over filter.

BTW whats wrong with a UV? Its widely accepted that they dont affect ferts, esp in EI tanks which get daily dosing, so dont be scared of rebuttal, be proud of them! When I get my 100g I'll be using one. Just to ensure I dont get ich and to stop green water. You can't get green water if you run a UV, so that'll be one less algae to worry about!

Sam

Indeed Sam, but it like cheating isn't it... Know what I mean? :shifty:

I use one, & swear by them. They eliminate soooooo many problems. Expensive things though but well worth the initial outlay.

Andy

We'll the co2 gassing killed all the big fish but not the umpteen un-hatched egg's that are now fry swimming about at the surface.
About 30 fry.
its amazing what nature will endure.

OOh how behind the times you are Andy. lol <----tongue firmly placed in cheek

Me and Sam are on the V2 series and youre still plodding on with the old versions.

Not that they needed changing but we got a nice green/red/orange light on ours and a UV keyring for our extra £30.

Got to go with Sam though cheating or not. I've never had any disease hit my tank nor have I had any green water although I have to admit I never had a disease since I first bought a tank and never had green water either but why take the risk if you can avoid it.

Next I want to buy a unit that eliminates all algae and tells the plants to stop growing when they get to the perfect shape and size. Still searching for it but I will let you all know after I've won the ADA money. lol
