Had my tank 4 weeks now and have noticed that the gravel and ornaments are being coated in brown and green algae do you think i should buy an algae eater? if so what do u think I should get?

Hmm, ottos would be good. But your tank is not really mature yet so I would skip them. You could try some bridgessi (sp?) snails.

The shrimp could work, you would have to be careful what type of nerite snail you get. Some are fully marine.

Defo get Bristlenoses which come in black or albino. i have 2 baby albinos at about 1-2" and take a look at my 1st pic, look at the rocks then look at the second and that in 3 days.

Bristlenose Plecos can be good at cleaning algae, one of mine certainly is but I have found ottos to be a lot better. They never seem to stop cleaning!
As for the earlier comment about searching topics, there really is no need for that. The OP is new to the site and is probably still getting used to it, comments like that aren't exactly encouraging. :/

I believe that albino clawed frogs get very large and aggressive and will attack and eat your other fish so if your signature is correct it probably wont matter what you get to eat the algae as it may well end up as food in the future.

If this is your 60 litre (15 gallon), you don't have room for any more fish besides maybe a couple of otos. A bristlenose would be too much. I'd personaly suggest algae eating shrimp. Check out http://www.petshrimp.com Also consider reducing the hours of light your tank gets a day and buying some fast-growing plants like Hydrophila polysperma while also reducing the amount you feed and increasing the frequency of water changes. Adding more fish to deal with algae is like treating a symptom - you need to tackle the root cause. Your dwarf gouramies would appreciate the plants, in particular, too.

edit: and, BTW, mikster is correct - it's not a good idea to have an albino clawed frog (african clawed frog) in a community tank with fish. Dwarf frogs are fine but the clawed species isn't.

Ottos are such fun fish to have (they prefer small groups), but you do have to be careful at first. Make sure they are real healthy at the store and acclimate them fully before putting them in the tank. I've got a couple and plan to get more...they are busy little guys :)

o, now i know that its a 15gal id say have 3 otos. Your lfs might give yuo money back or some money back on the fish. if they do get the money for him and get some otos.

Am I right in saying you can have a good bunch of ottos, they don't grow much, and just put in algae pellets, and maybe some frozen green veg occasionally. We have a 45gal tank. Could it easily hold a dozen of them?

You probably could get a dozen of them in your tank but of course it does depend on your stocking. With them not growing that big they don't produce a lot of waste.
Mine quite happily eat algae wafers and they love cucumber!
