Algae eaters??

yhbae. I think you have mistaken the SAE for the CAE. SAE's do not stop eating algea when older, CAE's do. SAE's do not get more aggressive as they age, CAE's do.

Also there are actually 4 "algea eaters" that are very similar in shape and color. The SAE, The Flying Fox, the false SAE and the CAE. Of these, the SAE is definately the best. I know of a website that shows pics of them all and gives the differences, but I will have to find it again for you.

I will post it as soon as I find it.

I pretty much don't count CAE, Flying Fox and false SAEs as algae eaters (unless if you have LFS who are willing to take back when they are older).

I did mean that SAEs eat less algaes when they are fully grown up - not from my experience though but from those who have them already. (sorry if I gave the wrong impression that SAEs stop eating algae when they grow up). Although it doesn't happen to the extend that CAEs do, they are apparently less interested in algaes as they grow older...

EGAD! I stand corrected. The Chinese Algae Eater looks NOTHING like the Siamese Algae Eater (By the way good site mamaschild). I could have sworn that I had book that called them the same thing. But I just checked all the entries, so I guess not. Sorry Folks :*)
