Albino Oscar

hes not looking good again, like before i started, dont think the meds are working, i will try and get some pics of him and he does not eat now

The problem with parasites is that they have already done to much damage internally and the med can be to late.
Once a fish totally stops eating bad news.
Have you finished the course of the meds.

no i have 2 more doses

if i increase areation would that help

Always increase aeration with meds.
Get back when the course of meds have finished.
Good luck.

just but my last dose in and he looks great and eat a lot of Bloodworms, but refuses flake and pellet. I am thinking i have a anoreix oscar that only eats Bloodworms, i will stop meds to see if looks better and feed him BW and see if he eats, then i am going to my LFS where i got him and ask what they feed him so i can get some of that stuff to see if he eats.

Don't feed to many bloodworms it's bad for them, only should feed twice a week.Sounds like a picky eater and dosn't like the flakes.Good idea get in touch with the lfs to see what they fed him. Some fish when you first buy them don't always like a change of brand in flake food it takes a while till they get used to it.Not sure on a oscar diet never kept them.Frozen brime strimp, and daphnia very good for disgesting a fish food.I don't advise feed fish either, wonder if he been fed on them.http://homepage.ntlworld.com/abel.guerrero/page19.html

okay, i only feed once a week or every other week if that, is it okay to feed him brine shrimp regulary and try and slowly lean him to flake or pellet and BS or BW for a treat, he has a little color coming back in the gill region, looks like he is going to make it

Bless him.
Best thing is to learn his diet needs go to the cichlid part of the forum loads of members willing to help.
Good luck.

secondary infection?????? he dwells at the bottom of the tank but still swims and opens his mouth as wide and big as he can almost in a yawning motion real fast several times, is it because he is starved from not eating or is that just his way of yawning or something, no other symptoms

EDIT: got pics will upload tomorrow, took some good one with phone cam

Yawning can be a number os things from bad water quality, but fish so yawn.
An open mouth wide open can mean sores in the mouth, something lodged in the mouth, to gill flukes.
I would go to the cichlid part of the forum get more help over there.
Dwelling on the bottom can be bad news but not sure what oscars behavour is like.
When you have wormed fish they say it best to back up with a bacterial med.

Yawning is normal for almost all fresh water fish. The are actually back flushing their gills to clear particles our of their gills. So don't be concerned about your fish yawning. I like to watch my fish for a few minutes until they yawn.

okay i am going to get some pimafix today and continue with gills fluke meds

lfs has both and i went with maracyn and got pimafix just incase. lfs said he was feed i regular diet of BBS and daphina and got BWs every sunday, so that is what i will get this weekend, thank you so much wilder
