Well when you asked I went over and took another look.
In all honesty I thought he had died. He was laying still tucked in tight at the base of a plant. I was able to gently touch against him with my 'planter' and he didn't move. So I decided to try and isolate him, managed to net him, not too much struggle, started to bring him towards the surface and "oh my" did he wake up! I managed to get him into the pot, but he was swimming around all over the place, exploring, investigating, generally being his 'mad' normal self!
The tub was too small really to keep him in, even floating in the tank, so I've released him back into the tank and he seems quite lively in there again.
I don't know whats going on, in all honesty, he looks fine, he seems to be perfectly 'able' when he wants to, but 99% of the time it seems now he just can't be bothered. Other fish can swim past and his fins will just sway in the water disturbance and he stays put.
Very bizarre. I'll hold off treatment until monday anyway, and see how things go.
When you said you wouldn't add any other fish for a month, was that even WITH dosing the tank? The only reason I ask is all his characteristics seem to be like he is bored / lonely. When there was 2 in the tank they were always active, when there were 4 they were the same, and now that there is 3, (which due to buying times must really be 2 + 1 if you see my point), the 'third' is lethargic. Obviously I don't want to risk fish uneccasarily, but I was thinking perhaps if 3 more cory's is a bad idea, perhaps just an extra 1 would be worth while, just to see if it makes a difference, if things are still like this in say a weeks time? (so after a full week of the anti-bac being in the tank)?
I'm not trying to sway your judgement one way or the other, just interested to hear your thoughts on this
