ok I have 4 of these lovelly wee fishies, 2 are definete 100% males, another is looking to be male but the forth has got me stumped :/ It's a bit more plump then athe other two big males, it's only a teeny bit smaller than them aswell, I'm not too sure if it might be female as it has teeny stuble to it (my green female has none)
here's a quick shot of them (top both male, bottom pic??)

I hope your ready for bristlenose babies... ;)

the bottom one is a very plump, egg laden female...

give them a week or so and I'm willing to bet you'll notice a male missing - He will be looking after the eggs :)

Have you got a cave in with them? - if not add one - It'll make the care of the fry a lot easier for the dad ;)

thanks that exactly what I wanted to hear   , I'd just stripped down the tank today (plants growing out of control) so managed to get these shots, I hadn't been able to tell with other shots I'd taken  .

the tank is quite heavily planted, with big chunks of wood (which they always dig underneath of) I've added a terracota plant pot for the moment until I can find something that might be a bit more suitable (without pulling any plants up).

I would love for them to breed, if they do then I might think about setting up a tank all for themselves ;)

thanks again

I think you'll find the information in the posts above ;)

Male has mega loads of bristles. Female only tiny stubs and usually wider when viewed from above.
