hiya, just looking to see if anyone can reccomend a very quiet air pump for my rena aqualife 200, it holds 55 gallons, or 248 litres in new money, lol, many thanks

The Rena gets a good vote. I would still place it on a slice of 1" thick media foam

Whisper air pumps for silence

Rena's for performance (quiet when suspended or put on foam)

I found the Renas to be the quietest too, the whispers are the Tetra one's yes?

If so the Rena air pumps are quieter IME.

Sera air pumps are surprisingly quiet too, considering they aren't that popular and are cheaper than Rena's.

I have an eheim it is the quietest pump i've ever heard, no need for foam either tubber mounted feet ensure that the vibration noise is also cancelled out. Reasonable price too IMHO
