i dont know why but ever since i have added some guppies to my tank my blue dawf gourami wont leave thwem alone he keeps chasing them. i thought dawf gouramis were peaceful fish?

i have 2 in my tank, how many do you have and what genders? a lonely dwarf gourami is probably just bored which is why he picks on the guppies, try getting him a female.

Im not sure about the gender but yeh i see your point im gonna get another one.

After a while you can just kind of spot the sexes of these - the males generally have a more pronounced red and blue stripe color, while the females have a more blue and silver feel to their color overall. The females just "feel" a little more plump and silver to look at when you are looking at a tank of mixed sexes. The males will just look a little thinner and darker red and blue, you just have to be patient and stare at them a while.
