my parents are thinking about buying a 350l aquarium for the house (they will do no work on it so its practically mine :hyper: )

they were thinking about having aggressive/semi aggressive fish in there because i just have gentle ones and they are getting bored of them eventhough im not

they dont want cichlids just fish such as tiger barbs and the like

ive thought of having a shoal of about 10-16 tiger barbs and a rtbs but thats it, im stumped...

filtration will be from a tetratec 1200 external filter, however, im not sure if the aquarium is going to be planted or not, ill wait for opinions on what i (we) should do with it

thanks :good:

Puffers are pretty agressive and fun to watch...but also may need brackish water, so that means more work than many other varities.

how about a school of Exodons?

fairly small so you could have quite a few in a 350L and very aggresive...

you are very lucky getting to run wild stocking a 350l tank. what fun you are going to have!! i gues it's a matter of personal taste. i know you said you don't want cichlids but i love these fish. if i had that tank that is definately what i'd be getting. maybe you could have some pirannahs lol. they are aggressive. only joking, i don't know what else you could get but good luck

2 suggestions:

1 a Hoplias Malabracius (wolf fish) very aggressive will get to 12" and are great fun to feed and watch them hit there food. Here is mine:

2 a gulper cat again hits 12" highly predatory and you will be amazed at what they can fit in there mouths. Here is mine:

Other options could be a group of dwarf snakeheads, maybe a sanchezi or irittan piranha lots better than RBP and more aggressive. Ignore tiger barbs these things are not aggressive if you want an aggressive tank go with aggressive fish.

right after looking at some ideas, i think aggressive oddball kind of fish would do alright.

ive seen the armoured or senegalbichir, this grows up to 16 inches and 20, would one of these be ok or one of each type?
spiny eel- really like these, would 2 be ok?
maybe an oscar or 2? These fish can hold their own by my research so wuld they be suitable?
i do like the look of snakeheads aswell ive heard they are illegal in the UK or the USA???

please keep the ideas rolling...
i think filtration may have to go to 2 tetra 1200s lol

thanks

Will

Snakeheads are Legal in the uk but they may become difficult to get hold of, i believe the EU are looking at an Import ban.

i must admit im very taken by Chana Bleheri (Rainbow Snakehead) they are incredible looking fish

thats a great looking wolfie mark7616 B-)
