Aggressive Puffer

my puffer bit my sting rays eyes off...
bit off his tail, day later stingray died....
it wad a porcupine puffer

anyone ever heard of this before is this common?

Wilder, with all respect I don't think the solution lies in water stats and tank size. It lies, in as you rightly asked, tankmates. Puffers sometimes don't play nicely, specifically with docile fish like rays.
