I have a 30 gallon tank with mostly tetras, but I tried adding in some glassfish a number of times. Only 1 seems to survive. So I have given up on any more of them.

Ive noticed that they seem to be aggressive towards each other but when I have just one, its aggressive to the tetras. It didn't happen often before, but last night I noticed that it was aggressive to the point where it would eat some food, spit it out, then chase any tetra around it away. The poor tetras had to eat the falling flakes once it got past the glassfish. They now seem to hover in the lower levels around the plants and decorations, but do come above them sometimes.

The tetras don't seem to be stressed though, as they have their colors.

Any suggestions

glassfish are schooling fish and should be kept in groups. If you are buying 2 or 3 of them then they are probably arguing. If you get a bigger group they should do better. It could also be you are getting males only and they will bicker a bit over territory. They only have small territories but the dominant fish usually bullies the weaker ones.
Most glassfish also come from slightly alkaline water (PH above 7.0) and many come from brackish water (containing some salt). If you are putting them in soft acid water that could be a contributing factor to them dieing.
If they are spitting out the food then try different foods. Many glassfish are wild caught and prefer frozen or live food over dry flake food. They will accept flake foods over time but you must be patient with them.

Thanks for the info. I have always had my tank right around the 7 mark for PH and also I do have aquarium salt in the tank.

When I first bought them, it was a group of 3. One died and I would get a replacement for him and it carried on a few more times. I cannot go more than 3 of them because of my stocking level.

I guess I should re-home him, only because ive gone through a number of them and he is the last one and has been for a few months.
