I have one traditional male dwarf gourami in my community tank. He is the biggest fish in the tank and is becoming very cocky. All I read about these guys is how peaceful they are towards other species but mine is constantly nipping my tetras, corys, and shrimp. Can anything be done to better the situation?

Give him a female dwarf gourami. I have a pair and the male only chases the female a little bit and only chases the other fish when they get to close.

Adding a female wont neccesarily stop the agression, for one thing there is no garuntee that they will pair up. If they don't pair up then it's more likely he will attack her to death.

What size tank is the male gourami in at the mo? And what other fish (with numbers) are in the tank with him?
