ok so when i started keeping tropical fish i was told they needed to be in pairs or groups but i didnt know that at first and my biggest angel fish is rather aggressive towards my other angel fish who like company can you guys help sort my problem????

Im a bit confused. have you had the big one on its own first and now added the smaller fish?

well lets start from the beggining lol

i bought an angel fish not knowing that they are less aggressive when kept in groups so he was on his own for a fair few months i then bought a new angel to keep him company yeh it was small, but he was really aggressive which is expected with the new one being smaller but now the new one (not so new anymore) is nearly the same size but the first one is still aggressive towards the newer one can i stop this or just seperate them and leave my first one by his self??

hes not aggressive twards other fish mainly only him i mean he does chase other fish if they sit there in front of him but he dosnt go for them normaly and its rarely happened but my poor other angel is getting the brunt of it :(

tricky one as one angel is different from the next but if it was me i would add a small group of decent sized angels to the tank at the same time and then add more hiding places. i saw the pic of your tank which is very nice but considering your situation i would add more places to hide

yeh thats not their normal tank i moved them as the tiger barbs in their tank basically ate my old angel believe it or not he is a koi X viel tail but they just ate him so i had to give him a rest the tank they are from is in the feb tank of the month its a bow shaped tank plenty og tall plants to divide and split aggression :) but my other angel loves being with others its just by the looks of it my old one dsnt like being with other angels :( when i get some money ill add some more angels to the other tank and add them see how it goes i suppose

I would try to reorganize the tank so any established territories will be lost.

+1 +1 +1

territories have been established and are probably being squabbled over.
either a bigger tank (don't know how big yours is) or try the above advice.

Angels are territorial cichlids. If you have 2 males that tank might be a bit small for both of them. Lots of things toward the tank's middle will give them a reference point to decide on territory boundaries so it is worth a try.

Yeh see ive never been able to sex angel fish i know how but mine arnt fully grown and its hard to tell :( i want a female for them both if they are both male will two females fight over terrtory? Or just the males ?
