Against The Flow Or With It?

Hi guys, sorry I know this is 'hardware' but its also 'setup' etc.

OK simply put I've never utilised a power head before.

First of all, Is it meant to be opposite the intake?

and should it be high/low in the tank? (I want it to keep the sand debri free)..

Any help appreciated!

*EDIT 30x12x18" tank, Hydor Koralia NANO 900 Circulation Pump with JBL e700 external.

you need the water to circulate, so you put it opposite the pump return and point it downwards. The pump return pushes the water along the surface then down, the power head pushes it along the substrate and up. How far down the glass you attach it, is down to you.

It arrived this morning and is now in place thanks!

THough I would let my fish get used to it for a few days until the external arrives

Nifty bit of kit, but not totally silent as I would have thought.

give it a wiggle under the water to get the air out, mine are very very quiet.

Just added one myself. It does a great job of keeping the sand clean and all my fish except the Danios love swimming in it's current.

I've given it a wiggle and there was indeed some more air still trapped in it, its still making the noise, but hopefully will be quieter after a bit.
