AlexF, there is a good clear pic of bamboo shrimp on three-fingers thread in this picture section. The filter shrimp get imported in anything from just over an inch to five and a half inches. They grow quite slowly so size isn’t a good identifier for them. They are quite distinctive looking compared to other fan shrimp so it is probably an African you have.
Thanks iSnail, they are awfully cute little guys, I will take more pics of them if they survive, I am not sure what their natural behaviour is like but they don’t move about much and I am not sure they are too happy, the maroons seem more lively and are eating constantly so hopefully they will be fine. Like I said earlier there were dead ones in the bags when they got to the shop so they may not have shipped well. I only got a few of each they cost £7.50 each, guess if they breed well in tanks they will be as cheap as cherries eventually. The nettles I dip fresh ones in boiling water or just drop them in raw, they crs and cherries love them as much as spinach, they prefer the older leaves for some reason. The Hydrilla is a nice weed not as big or fast growing as Egeria but a good plant.
