African Dwarf Frog & Betta

i strongly discourage the use of melafix or any other tonic(and meds) with amphibians...they are very very sensitive to substances much more so than most fish...clean water is the best remedy and in this case if he has actually damaged his foot, there is nothing melafix or any other meds can do. there are bones in his feet. they will not grow back like fish fins. or even help him to unclamp his foot
if there is no sign of infection (redness swelling, fuzz, etc.,) on his foot just keep good water stats. his foot bight not be perfect but i dont suspect hell suffer if it doesnt straighten out.
cheers

thanks loraxchick, didnt go with melafix in the end, frog seems to be doing very well and swimming around a lot more so will just keep crystal water up :)

sounds perfect...he looks like a happy chappy :hyper: love your pics of the two of them...im seriously considering getting a froggy for one of my boy's tanks.

I would really recommend it! They both have great personalities :) Calcifer only half hearted flares now, he actually likes to know where the frog is and what he is doing! Last night was funny as the frog was peering back at Calci and so him being macho flared but so lazily with one side nearest the frog! Then decided nah its my friend nudged said frog and swam off! It is all too cute and fun to watch!

Awwwww thats really sweet lol.

Radish does the same with the khulis

lol thanks, they are sych characters arent they?!. One thing having to do at the moment is drop the food near her as there is no regime yet, but the gravel seems to prove a little difficult to feed off, am I worrying too much?

you need to watch the frog with the gravel as if he swollows a piece of gravel he wont be able to pass it. might want to pop some thing with a flat surface in the tank and feed from there. like a small piece of slate partially buried so calcifer dosnt catch his fins on the edges.
