African Dwarf Frog & Betta

I feed my four ADF the remains of half a cube I origginaly dropped it in 10 mins before lights out then did it progressively earlier and allow it to float as an ice cube gradually pushing it round the tank untill its everywhere and any remains the frogs get, there is always plenty left once the other fish have had their fill and by morning its clear. I also feed them live food whenever I feel active enough to go outside to the live food tubs and catfish pellets. Tankmates are: Snails, Cherry shrimp, Male betta, 2 albino corys, 2 pepperred corys, 1 black cory, 3 black khuli loaches, 3 striped khuli loaches and 2-12 endler males (its my holding tank before selling them on, so as soon as sexable they go in there).

thanks guys! I do worry that the betta may over take the food, ohho hh! Klaus is swimming yay! Sorry may try the layer overall technique to start and see. Thank you

thanks Galanta! Well all well this morning, the frog has taken over the house and appeared once or twice, using turkey baster shoved some bloodworm in his direction, he ate some and disappeared again. Unfortunately Calcifer got wind of the food and has gorged himself, he aint getting fed for a good while now being the fattest I have seen him. Am I going to be better off hand feeding if i can? klaus is still very shy and unsure what the best way to feed is with my pigboy about loving everything in sight. Watching fat Calcifer with anticipation as well as this is the fattest I have ever seen him (I am pretty careful feeding my fish normally!) Any tips appreciated.

some more qs guys if I may?

Calcifer seems relatively ok with Klaus now, so much so instead of biting, nipping or flaring saw him nudging the wee beasty.

I do have another concern now (have also posted in amphibian section) it look slike my frog has hurt his foot, I cant quite tell if it is clamped or he is missing toes but am I able to add melafix for say a 3 day course while he and Calcifer are in there will it hurt either? I did notice his foot caught the other day but thought all was ok now one foot is never splayed.

Also should I now add a second frog? Would two be better for each other (wanted to test Calcifer first before committing!) How do frogs react to new ones added not with them? Does it matter male/female?

Really concerned about his foot.. poor guy

quick edit, he happened to rest near me, I count four toes at least (think they have 5) longest two have been shortened and claw missing, so thinking hurt and clamped.

To stop Calcifer from gauging feed the Frogs at night there more active at night and they dont hunt down food by sight as there eyesight is awful, they go by smell this will stop him from gauging as he wont know the bloodworms are there.

ah brill thanks! also found beating Calcfier off with the turkey baster is quite successful!

Have you any ideas on his poor foot at all? Managed to get pics just waiting for them to load.

hey, popped up the second floor of dolphin centre, odd choices of fish kept together eh, only good thing least its handy for frozen foods....those clown knifes were in awful condition and those kissing gourami looked odd, pretty big but seem long and skinny

yeah it is a bit of an odd shop isnt it? it is the closest to me as Id have to get two buses to the other one. That is where got Klaus from. Did you get a chance to talk to the staff at all?

Didnt see the clowns when went in and not experienced enough! To me the seem a tad better than the other store but not by much.

here are pics of him:

I've used Myxazin before with the frogs in the tank and it didnt kill them but this my of been pure luck so i would look into it a bit more, it doesnt say you shouldnt use it for amphibians but it also doesnt say its ok. I would go with water changes until someone gives you a concreate answer

thanks Tonym, currently only have Melafix, will not add anything until otherwise! Poor little guy, he has been much more active today which is great.

hi, my frog had damage to his hand, looked like 2 fingers missing... I just treated it with regular water changes as he was in with my betta, within a week the missing fingers had grown back!!
