Well they have been together about 2 hours. Calcifer flared once at the beginning. Have just seen one nip (have been watching carefully) it looked more out of interest as they ran into each others spaces, just keep an eye on it? Frog has hidden again so hope he is ok, will opst pic soon

I have 2 ADF's with a betta and they ignore each other sometimes he will hunt them down just be nosy and see what there doing.

thanks Tonym, it is good to know it is healthy investigation. I got the frog a little cermic house and Calcifer just had to get inside it, me watching me trepidation that he could get out, such a nosy boy. How often do the ADFs head for surface?

well they seem to be having a stand off, flaring and what not and there is nipping from both sides going on - move or let them have it out?

my ADF and Sgt. Rocky Balboa (dont ask, i let my friends name him!) get along great. I have a few hideyholes for them both, but mostly the frog is to zen'ed out to care, and Rocky is too busy thinking of what to eat!!

lol hope mine start to get on soon. That is a very funny awesome name and can see why it stuck!

here is a pic :)

p.s. we named him Klaus!

aww he looks adorable? have you got any more or just the one? make sure you have a few hidey holes for him if you havent already, somewhere he can retreat to if it all gets a bit much for him. Do they look like they are getting on now?

wellll...before dinner there was the stand off. Klaus has stayed in the blue fern thing at the top and Calcifer keeps wanting to get to him to look, so still watching just in case.

there is a terracotta pot, small blue house, leant moss ball and upside down blue fern as well as half submerged cut up bottle which I hope is enough? Also have a small ash tray in there to try and start feeding him on which will hope to do tomorrow.

oh yeah, that sounds more then enough hiding places!!! What are you planning on feeding him? I tend to stick to the Tetra Delcia range, bloodworms in jelly. I literally hand feed my ADF, he loves it! there is a lot less mess as well, i just gently squeeze the packet and give him all he can handle in two mins!

I was thinking defrosted frozen bloodworm as a main staple and then investing in some frog bites or such? bloodworms in jelly?! There is such a thing - wow!!! lol the range of food for fish is a amazing.

Have the tray to put some bloodworm in, was going to try the method of gently holding near him as read sense of smell will get them going?

yeah, they have pi*s poor eye sight, and rely heavily on their sense of smell, so you will need to drive him towards the plate of worms! I was told that a froze cube of worms would be far to much for one frog? maybe use a knife to cut a little bit off the cube first and see how much of that he eats?

ah no worries, always cut my cubes up for the puffs I have another good reason for me getting the frog. The cubes do last absolutely ages this way. Well Calcifer is my curiosity killed the cat guy so will keep an eye on him. How much do you feed yours? till full? thanks so much for answering me qs :)

:)

well Sgt Rocky doesnt like the bloodworms, but cant get enough of eating prawns. I keep all my fish on a pretty strict diet, the ADF gets as many bloodworms as he can handle in two/three mins- but its easier for me to control because i feed him straight out of the tetra packet, i dont put the worms in a dish...this way i cut down on wasted food, and control their diet. These guys will gorge themselves to death!

your betta eats prawns? Is that fresh, dried, freeze dried? i find its always good to get opinions of the experienced - thanks x

frozen prawns, just regular old frozen prawns! I defrost one at a time and give it to him twice a week as a treat! he loves it! he will wrestle with it, trying to break bits off...i tend to break the prawns in to quite small pieces first. Give it a go, he will love it!
