Hey, I'm considering getting a (or a few) ACFs... but I don't know too much about them... I know what they eat and that they grow to around 5", but I'd like to know about the tank setup I need for them... are they like dwarf frogs? can I just fill the tank up and they'll get the air from the surface? Or should I keep the tank like half full? Also, do they need heaters? how about filtration (what kind of filter? internal or external) As you can see I need a fair bit of help... the ppl at my LFS just said to put them in a tank with fish too big to eat...

I think the basic setup is that similar to a ADF (african dwarf frog). When i had me claw frog, i had a tank which was 30 gallons and was a large tetra community. It was set at 76-78F. Just the starderd things for fish. If you were going to keep them on there own, i think just a tank with gravel, water and plants/decorations/rocks etc, I would personally use an airstone or something just because i hate to see water in tanks still and it would bug me.

Ok... would a 10gallon tank do for one? Also, do I need to heat the tank? what kind of filtration do I need? I've got a spare whisper 10gallon internal filter, but I just read on a site that you should have a small filter on the inside...

they eat feeder fish like rosies i just learned. i never new a frog could eat a fish like that. atleast not those types of frogs.

Did some research on google... it doesn't tell me an exact tank size, and all of the stupid pictures are too small to see the filter... Hey, if i mixed a dwarf frog with them, think it'd be okay or just a snack?

You'll probably want to keep them in groups as they are very social.

Heater would be good they like water around 76-78F.

They jump like mad and can get through the smallest of places so make sure you have a tight lid with no openings.

Edit: No dwrf frogs or smaller fish as they'll eat anything that fits into their mouths. :)

ok... hmm now I must get a 10gallon tank and the ACF  oh do i need to cycle the tank for the frog? Or should declorinated tap water be fine?

Im not sure on that one, I would just cycle it for 2 weeks to be sure. Do you have a sopnge from another tank you could use to speed up the process? Also i think ammonia would burn the frog, am i wrong?

You're right on. :)

true... might... the 10gallon internal filter I'd use is currently running on a 3gallon tank used for snails... (breeding them for the 2 DP's I'm getting tonight... so it should cycle the tank instantly anyways... hopfully the setup will be fine, I may get the tank tomorrow night and begin the cycle for a week...
