hi i have 90 litre tank . water stats are 0 on ammonia 0 on nitrite 40 on nitrate. but ph is 8.2 i use an airstone and have just read somewhere that by lowering the air supply as mines on full blast will drop the ph. is this right. what should i be aiming for with aeration . complete surface movement or does it allow to be turned down a bit. will that help lower the ph and not too quickly to cause ph shock? pump i use is a maxima

The air stone is not really going to affect your pH.

An air stone is going to help the transfer of gasses, (oxygen and Co2).

Co2, I believe has an effect on your pH, but unless you are pumping Co2 into your tank, you should not have to worry about your pH level in relation to your air pump.

Good surface agitation from your aerator is what you should be aiming for.

So, having it on full blast will be just fine.
