Advise Please, Need To Know What To Do Next Update

I agree are meds are not that strong on a bad strain of columnaris, plus the longer he has it the more damaged it does.
Good luck, fingers crossed.

I don't even know if it is that. It's not getting any worse at the moment anyway and its been six weeks or so now.

I'm grumpy (

To be honest you really need antibiotic from a vet.
What bacterial meds have you tryed, turn temp down 2 degress as high temps helps it spread faster.

the interpet one. Would i need to take fishy with me to the vet? Feel kinda silly, i wonder if many go to the vets with fish.

Phone the vet, and takes some pics of the fish to the vets.
Say he has a bad strain of columnaris.

what about the classic salt bath? that takes care of most things and there can't really be a resistant strain against it.... but if that doesn't work try "Polyguard" (treat tank) along with "paraguard" (dips) (not together in the same tank)
this is a broad spectrum treatment that will work well.

The uk don't have excess to decent meds like the states, wish we did.

i guess the US is just more open with medicine in general...
i'm originally from Japan and there, you can't just go to a gas station or convenience store and buy any type of medicine... :/
gotta go to the pharmacy

Well spent my last pennies until pay day on fish medication (bacteria control) and some aquarium salt.

Can you post a pic of the fish.
How he act does he look quite well, or had enough at deaths door.

Yeah i can but it would just be the same as the others i've posted in another post ages ago i think. My camera isn't too good really, haven't got it here with me right now but can take some tomorrow. She's fine, just like the others except with this cottony growth on her side. It's not got any bigger and no one else has any ill effects as yet. Her appetite is fine, behaviour normal. It's been over a month now.
