Advice Wanted For Friend

a friend asked me to look at a setup for him and wanted my opinion, i have told him i wouldn't touch this with a barge pole as seems over stocked, am i wrong or is there way to many fish in this tank and some compatability issues?

It is a bit of a mess tbh, way overstocked and i'm not quite sure how anyone would want to put a lot of marine rock in a tropical setup??

I would maybe try to negotiate buying the entire setup without the fish? Maybe a LFS would take them?

Other than that, you get everything you need to setup a tank; everything is there.

to be fair the set up looks nice from the pics (a bit pricey but nice) but i really wasn't too sure about the stocking and compatability of the fish he has in there as some of those fish need reasonable space on their own

the marine rock would be useful to the zebra cichlids as they are from lake malawi with alkaline hard water, which the marine/ocean rock helps create, if you can get the tank without the fish and knock off some money then do it, if you wanted to get the lot and sell/rehome the fish then you can do that.

Seems a bit too pricey for me and horribly overstocked. I wouldn't keep the stock, I like to do my own thing with the stocking.

I agree with these two. If he likes it he should buy it providing the price is right. Is there a reason he couldn't thin the stock by donating or selling?
