I am getting 3 platy 2 females and one male. After a week I wanted to add 6 guppies. Is this ok for my 60 litre tank? Any potential problems. I know they breed so will I be ok?

I'd honestly advise getting males only. Bear in mind that platies can have 30 or 40 babies every month; you have the potential to be overstocked very, very rapidly.

Ok. so all male guppies too?

If I scrapped the idea of guppies would a Betta Fighter go with platy? The guy at the store said they are totally different water conditions.

Maybe not I just read platy are fin nippers. What do you suggest I get?

I have 7 female bettas living in my community tank that has 3 platys in

Oh really? So that would be an option then? I saw a stunning one the other day. But they guy said it's totally different water? So do you think a Betta and the 3 platy would be a better idea than the guppies? I don't wanna be overrun with babies

a single male Betta or a small group of 5 females would fit with your platies :good:

Personally i would go:

1 Male Betta
5 Male platies (5 reduces aggression) :good:

Any suggestion that a Betta splendens cannot go into a tank with xyz occupants sets me to thinking about the companion fish. If those companions are aggressive or territorial, the Betta will become a victim. If those are peaceful fish, the Betta will be an upstanding member of the community. Although I specialize in livebearers, I find a Betta splendens is never a threat to my other fish, although sometimes the more active or aggressive fish can be a threat to him. Guppies and platies do not fit that mold of aggressive fish in most cases so the Betta should be fine with them.
What I do not see being discussed here is how mature your tank may be. A newly established tank that has not had time to develop a bacterial colony to process nitrogen wastes from your fish should never have any, let me repeat that never add any, new fish until the filter in that tank is fully developed (we call that cycling).
If you have not already explored the cycling subject here on TFF, please use the links in my signature area to help you understand what we are going on about when it comes to cycling.
