Well i've well and truly been bitten by the bug :D lol looking to upgrade my tank i currently have a trigon 190 .

2 of the problems with it is that it sits next to my only source of heating in living room so can't leave heating on for more than 2 hours without temp creeping up (with the Scottish winters i need my heating ! ) and my gourami's don't seem to like the fact that they can see each other (Not the easiest tank to scape ! )

So I'm going for a nice big rectangle tank . I've been looking on the only site i can seem to find that have a wide range of tanks and seen this one which i really do like

http://www.aquariumsdelivered.co.uk/catalo...net-p-2525.html

Has anyone else got a tank like this ? If so have you ever encountered any problems ?

Would you think this would be a suitable tank fo my 2 male gourami's and my plec ? all my fish from current tank will be going in it but I'm most concerned about these 2

Also do you know of any other good reliable sites for tanks in the uk? Oh and has anyone had any problems with aquariums delivered ?

Many thanks :D

try nd aquatics their tanks are superb. depends on your budget as you would hasve to get heaters filter etc seperate. you can get a 48x18x24 for about the same price as that and the build quality will be second to none
hope this helps

why not have a look at ebay first before you go splashing out :)

ooooooh peter just wait 3 months for a tank from them :(

yeah i thought that was that site . sod waitin that long my nd tank was about a week

Ive had no probs with aquariums delivered, had 3 tanks from them, quick and reliable, I believe peters was one that they make themselves and wasnt in stock, but to their credit, they did give him a free upgrade.

The only problem I would think with that tank is the depth, its pretty tall, as long as your not too short you should be fine.

3 months ! erm.... Can't wait that long lol hoping to get it end of nov start of dec

going to be selling other tank with full set up they can take the water aswell if they wish but can't really sell the tank i have until i get the new one even tho bf says he'll put fish in his quaranteen tank if i need to sell it before new tank arrives

Theres just so much choice :S I would preffer to buy full set up in one go that way i can get it all set up at once and tansfer media from existing filter so that cycling won't take aslong

Anyone know of any other sites ?

Oh and i've got some step ladders plus bf is 6ft so if my wee arms won't reach i'll make sure his does :D Even if it involves holding his ankles :D LMAO !

even if you buy seperately you can still transfer some media from old filter

There are other sites, seapets are a good, the aquarium store, try ebay too, you could get a bargain on there, or aquarist classifieds.

tyin all of the above sites :D

Will have a look on ebay will have to get someone else to order it for me as i'm kinda suspended for not paying fee's only £18 ...but they rob ya just for listing something ! lol hope i find something i really like

I love the Evasion XL Horizon Tanks But not to sure what else i could get in my livingroom if i got it or if my floor would hold it 615L :D think i'm going to have to move house ! lol

That stand looks like it would cause you trouble with your house heating system. It seems you would need at least part of the base open so the heat could get into the house directly. Even then you would need something to deflect the heat away from the tank IMO. If the heat issue is only with where you have the tank now, maybe you could use a piece of sheet metal to deflect the heat out into the room and away from the fish tanks.

The new tank will not be going in the same place as the old one because the one i have at present is a corner tank i was pretty limited to where i could put it next to heater or next to my windows so i opted for the corner it's in as it is further away from heater than the other corner .

New tank won't be near a heater or window it will get more direct sunlight but i'd rather clean the tank more than try n cool the tank down every time i have the heating on

just a wee question on stocking as well with the new tank that i'm getting i've decided not to put any of existing fish into just to start completely from scratch .
Would i be able to get an Oscar in the tank ? it's a 340L and the dimensions are
L122cm W 44.5 H 76

And what other tank mates would be suitable ? I know i can only have one male oscar in the tank . my granddad had a Red Oscar called kipper when i was a kid and i've always wanted one but not to sure what else is suitable

:D
