1st how do you pronounce mbuna?

Heres some of my ideas for a 29 mbuna tank any suggestions are greatly appreciated. :D

Some of my favs

Melanochromis johanni electric blue
Labidochromis sp. Mbamba yellow top

Cynotilapia afra Cobue orange back 1 of these 2
Pseudotropheus flavus

Pseudotropheus elongates maybe
Pseudotropheus Zebra Long pelvic
Pseudotropheus polit maybe

I like desamoni too but, have heard bad things about their aggression.

If you mean 29gallons that's too small for a mbuna tank, you need 55g. However, mbuna is pronounced umboona. Yellow labs may be suitable for a slightly smaller tank, but nothing else with them.

That's pretty much it. Not very many suitable mbuna for a 29. Adding any or all of what you've listed will all seem fine and good at first, but when they grow up and mature look out - you'll end up with ww3 in you're very own aquarium!

In general mbuna are very active fish that will use as much space as you give them, and very aggressive fish that will only get more hostile if not given that space.

There are a few exceptions you can go with, however, including the mentioned Labidochromis Caeruleus (Yellow Lab) and Pseudotroheus Acei, or you can get away with a species tank of Pseudotropheus Saulosi. Even with these a 29 is pushing the limits of the tank.
