Hi everyone,

I am going to instal a new EX1200 to my tank tomorrow, I have a fully cycled EX700 on the tank at the moment.

Should I take 50% of the mature media out of the EX700 and put it in the new EX1200? Or just run the EX1200 with the new media in?

Any advice would be great :good:

Are you planning on having these run simultaneously for the foreseeable future?
What was your thinking in adding a second filter to the tank?

Depending on what your goals are (both immediate and long term) will determine the best direction to go. If they are going to both be running on the same tank for the foreseeable future, I don't see much real benefit in moving media around.

If keeping both of the filters on the tank then just add it. If you plan to remove the 700 then seed the 1200.

I am adding the extra filter because in the near future I woul like to go heavily planted, and I dint think the Ex700 would be enough.

So both filters will be running on the same tank. I was thinking it would be better to split the mature media between both filters but if there is no benifit in doing this I wont bother. Thanks for the advice.
