thanks for that, those sites are really helpful
i hope i can keep the plants growing well, im sure i will find out what plants work for my tank, i dont think the co2 is an option at the min as moneys a bit tight

managed to get 12 cardinal tetras today so that should brighten the tank up a bit, they are tiny at the min but i would of thought they will soon grow, my mrs thinks i'm obsessed with the aquarium haha

Your tank looks ok algae-wise,just scrape the glass and scrub the rocks occasionally and you should be ok. For plant suggestions try www.plantgeek.net. You can search by light needed, size etc to find the right plants for your tank.
