So here is my idea, I plan to get a 55 gallon aquarium and give in a natural look. Caves, plants & hiding spots provided, but any tips or comments for the following fish list would be helpful. Cheers :)
3 peppered corys & 3 albino corys
2/1 bristlenose plecos
5/6 assorted platies
7 neon tetras
bolivian ram pair
apisotgramma cacatuoides pair (cockatoo cichlid, double red variation)
2 discus

any tips or warning will be of great help!! thanks in advance guys!! :fish: :drinks: :thanks: :yahoo:

The main two issues there are the discus and the cories, the discus are more so the issue simply because they really do need special care with really good quality water provided through lots of water changes and they also need high temperatures and are also best kept in groups of 5 or 6. I think you need to make the choice between going fully down the discus route or down the community route.

Personally I would go for the community route as minus the discus that looks like a great mix of fish :) Two things I would change would be having either 3 bronze and 3 albino since they are the same species and as such will be much happier than in trios or 6 peppered or 6 albino. I would also go for a trio of Apistos rather than a pair and go for 1 male and 2 females you will have more success with them in your tank like this :)

I also think your stocking could go up a little as well to be honest - I think I would probably do something like -

2 Angelfish or 2 Festivums
2 Bolivian Rams
3 Apistogramma Cacatuoides (1m 2f)
6 Male Platies - stay in control of your population dont mix sexes :)
10 Neon Tetras
2 Bristlenoses - or similar sized plecs
8 Peppered Cories or any species but stick to all of the same species but you can mix albino and bronze :)

Wills :)

Hello,
I will be up front with you, stocking plans are not really my strong point but i would be inclined to take the discus out of the mix. If you end up getting the cichlids then please post some pics, lovely fish.

Keith.

I was never certain on the discus, were just an idea. But thanks anyway guys! I shall take your alternative stocking plan into consideration, I think I will either go with angels or dwarf gouramis. Thank you so much guys!!
