Does anyone else have an adult frontosa? Mine's about 18 months old and approx 8/9 inches long. He used to eat high protein granules until I moved him into a bigger tank of 90g. Now he seems only to accept defrosted bloodworms and ignores anything else. Is this ok for him or has anyone some more ideas.

Cut out the bloodworms and concentrate on getting him back onto a decent staple food. Feed the pellets and remove them if they're not eaten. Then try again the next day. He'll eat eventually, I've never encountered a fish that would starve itself to death and they can go weeks without food with no consequences to their health.

Butif you can't handle tough love routine, at least mix up the fresh foods he gets. Fish area good idea, as they are piscavores in the wild, as well as crustaceans. Bloodworms are fine as a supplement, but it's not enough in itself, and a diet of only this will lead to malnutrition.

Thanks freddyk, I've tried him on raw and cooked fish, even bought him a piece of trout and cut it into pieces freezing them in ice cube holders (is that love or what! ). Guess what? He ignored them  However, I will persevere and cut out the blood worms for a while.
