Greetings to all, I am new to the hobby but I think I am getting addicted.

I just want some advice on what I could add/change to the aquarium decor wise to make it look a little better. It's a 10 gal 20" x 10" x 12" so I can't put anything big in.

I was thinking of adding live plants but I am unsure if the gravel substrate will be suitable.

If you are wondering yes the chest is one of those air action ornaments, I tend to leave it off as the pump makes alot of noise.

Thanks in advance.

More plants, that can be done, and I was thinking about doing that.

I will have to take a look at the pic section as well.

I wonder if there are any other suggestions? And what about live plants or does gravel not work?

I'm far from a plant expert, but I can tell you that I have the same size substrate as you and have had luck with some plants. Right now I have a couple of banana plants that have been growing like crazy recently using a fair amount of natural light only.

As far as recomendations, I would suggest a small plant (or two) for the forground whether you choose real or artificial. I'm also a fan of using backgrounds to hide wires. I usually go with a simple solid black to show off the fish.

I'm sure the folks in the Plant forum would have plenty of good suggestion for you. :)

If you want to see more pictures of my fish go to this thread. I decided to start a new one in the members pictures forum.
