Adding Stock...

Hi there

After upgrading on sunday to the 48 gal,i have tested the tank twice daily since the change and ammonia/nitrite has remained at zero.
The tetratec ex700 seems to have cloned the media well i took out of the internals from the smaller tank,so it looks like the bio load is being handled

Now my question will it be ok to add more stock?,i was thinking of just a few cories at the moment,maybe panda's,depending if they still got these down the lfs!

When using mature media to help cycle a tank, it is best to add ammonia for 1-2 weeks, as there is usually a small nitrIte spike that goes on. At least that is what I have read people say on this forum.

I have got 4 platies and 10 harlequins in there,plus 35 fry in 2 traps(hopefully these will go the breeding tank if it ever completes fishless cycle!),basically i moved them all over and i'm still getting zero readings These all came from the 20 gal tank,which was already cycled

If stats are fine then yes its ok to add some more fish. (dont add loads at once)

Then you can add some more fish, not all at once though.
