Adding Fish To An Aquqrium

Just bought a rekord 600 and i want to move the fish from my old tank into it. how should i move them?how long should i climatize? How should i climatize? thanks!

Hey, firstly have you cycled the new tank? or used mature media to seed filter? This will help us to answer your question

If you've filled it with water from the same source and it is the same temperature just add them straight in, no need to acclimatize.

You need to keep your old filter though and either move the sponge and stuff from inside into your new filter, or run them both for 4-6 weeks.

Seeding mature filter media too a new tank:

The process is quite simple, Its where you add your previous sponge from an existing filter into the filter on a new aquarium.
It helps build the biological filtration much quicker.

Your biomax- or other kind of housing media can also be used to seed your new filter by putting it directly in the tank
and or placing it in the filter.

Speeds up the cycle process.

if you've already cycled the tank and filter this process doesn't even need to be done.

As above, if the tank is cycled Ive follow Trucks advice from above. Says it all really.

Has mentioned,if you are moving everything across including the water,then you don't really need to acclimatise them,if you bag them up,move across your decor etc,you can use most of the water and top if up with fresh dechlorinated water

Not quite that easy chaps and chapesses. It also depends on what kind of fish you have.

Always introduce the non-territorial fish first so that they get used to their new environment before the territorial fish get added. This way the non-territorial fish can retreat to known hiding places if fighting kicks off.

one green spotted puffer,and a catfish
