i work for a pet store and we just got our fish in today. the bumble gobies ive been waiting for finally came in for my 29 gal brackish tank. they have not even been taken out of the shipping bag. i have them floating now but is the blue tranquilizer stuff ok to pour into the tank? we dont usually put it in the tanks at the store and im not even sure i want to but i dont want to stress them out by submerging them in the tank with the salt without acclimating them to it properly. any advice or tip on how to work it?

Acclimate using the drip method.  A length of air tube tied off to limit the flow and syphoning from the main tank into the bag the Gobies are in.  Over half an hour, an hour it'll fill up, empty some of the water back out and resume the process.  This will acclimate them slowly.

I do the same with crystal red shrimp over the course of about three hours.

And net the fish from the bag to the tank so you don't get any bag water in the tank.
