Hi guys - I'm in the stocking stage of my new tank. 40g bowfront. Here's a pic:

My question is this - I LOVE pearl gouramis and want to add a single male as a centerpiece fish in my tank. I currently have 3 hatchets, 4 harlequin rasboras, and a black/yellow wag. I plan on getting 2 more harlequins and 2 bristlenose plecos, as well. Will the gourami leave the harlequins alone? I've heard that the pearl is a very docile and peaceful fish - just want some confirmation of that from you folk that my precious little harlequins aren't in any danger. :)

Thanks!

You won't regret getting a pearl gourami... I'm so in love with mine! I've only had him a few weeks, but in that time he's grown a lot and is really colouring up nicely. He's very inquisitive and gets on well with everyone in the tank... rummynose tetras, otocinclus, polkadot loaches, amano shrimp. Very peaceful and very beautiful!
From what I've heard I think they are only ever aggressive when put with females.

i have 2 pearl gouramis in my 240 litre community tank, they are very peacefull fish, ive had no problems.

I have three fully grown pearls in my 250l tank with a shoal of 30 harlequins and 10 platinum tetras and no problems
