I added some Echinodorus tenellus today and to be honest I didn't really know what I was doing. I added them by putting their roots into the sand but it had several root systems all along the plant and now I don't know if I've pushed the right segments into the substrate, can anyone give me some advice? Also, I haven't gotten round to buying some ferts to help it establish itself in my aquarium so can someone recommend me an all-round fert that I can buy in the U.K? From somewhere like Maidenhead Aquatics (my LFS).

Thats done fine, if I were you I'd get ferts online as they are much better, grab some neutro T from aqua essentials not dosing CO2.

Phew, good to know. Will they be ok for a few days until I have the fertiliser? I don't want them to die off in the mean time.

They'll be ok just stick to an 8 hour photo period.
