Thought this was kinda funny, pretty much the only time I open the lid is to feed my plecos. So today I noticed that there was a dead pleco on the ground (not sure what killed it, I think it was just a fluke) so I scooped it out and shut the lid, then left the room for a bit. When I came back, I noticed all the plecos were frantically shuffling around, which they usually do when they're looking for food. it took me a minute to figure out that they probably associate the sound of the lid closing with food, which I think is pretty interesting.
