Abi's Qualifying Week

:rolleyes: stats holding at 0. One of them is teeny compared with the others, we've named her special needs fish since she doesn't mix well. Two of the others have a weird thing of going to the surface, appearing to breathe, flick then burp? Very odd indeed.
They have an organ called a labyrinth that allows them to take a gulp of air, they originate from paddy fields and ditches and can survive short periods of low oxygen conditions. It`s perfectly normal
 
I've always thought the things they do at the surface makes gouramis and other labyrinths more interesting - an added aspect about them to watch (kind of like cichlids have complicated behavior patterns and characins have shoaling behaviors and corys have group playfulness and archerfish shoot water drops and... :lol: ) WD
