Can I mix a red-tailed tank into an mbuna tank with P Acei and Yellow Labs?

I realize that the shark is pretty aggressive, but I am wondering if P Acei and Yellow Labs can keep up with this species...

Obviously, the diet will be heavily vegetarian based...

i wouldn't do it. they are very intolerant of others even their own kind. i had one for a year or so. thought everyone was crazy when they said it was aggressive. wiped out a male chipppokae and other mbuna in a weekend we were gone

Wow it killed a chipppokae? How large was the shark and chipppokae?

As expected, looks like it was a bad idea afterall...

Hmm... I'm looking for _one_ different and interesting looking fish that can be mixed with p Acei, Yellow Lab and Synodontis Multis. Any suggestions?

Also, would tiger barbs survive in a mbuna tank described above? (Man, I should go to bed and stop coming up with these cray ideas... )

I think Barbs do better in acidic water if I remember correctly.

Hi,

Just to let you know I keep a 5" RTBS in with my mbuna - ps acei, ps socolofi, yellow labs and kenyi, and I have no problems, he's certainly the boss at the moment but has never caused any damage to anyone, he's too slow and stupid!

Becs

I have a 90 gallon with 1 oscar 10", 1 rainbow shark(pretty much the same as a red tail) 6", 1 yellow lab 4", 1 firemouth 6", 1 pleco 10", 1 african I don't know the name of 6", and a bunch of guppies. They have all gotten along fine for about a year. I guess it all depends on the situation, tank size etc.

semper fi did mention that it was ok for him as well, for about a year that is...

Has anyone kept that combo for more than a year?

lol .... i cant believe ur very big oscar hasnt eaten tiny little guppies yet...that is weird

Oscar with guppys? you sure, because there feeder fish. i think semper might be thinking of a Red Tailed Black Shark.

I'm sure, I bought them for a treat for the oscar but I guess he's so used to eating pellets out of my hand, that's the only way he eats. He has me well trained. ha ha

ok, if i buy a redtailed shark at the lfs(that small size) how long can i keep it in a tank with a demonsi, 2 yellow labs, the may. ethalyae(whatever, looks like a gold fish) and a convict(new world)

anyways i got a home for them once they become too big/agressive...

i got a dude that takes alot of unwanted fish...

i feal bad about geting them then geting rid of them when they get big but i always wanted a one, they just never fit
