I am putting together a pressurized CO2 system with a Rex Grigg regulator and a 5lb tank. I am interested in getting one of the cal aqua bubble counters. Can anyone out there explain how to actually set up a bubble counter with a check valve. I understand the concept of what a bubble counter does but an explanation as to where to place it in the "signal chain" as well as where to place the check valve and how to fill it with solution, that would be great.

cheers

gas > Regulator > Solenoid (optional) > Needle Valve > Bubble Counter > Check Valve > Diffuser/ Reactor.

i dont get what you mean by filling the check valve with solution?? do you mean the bubble counter? this is just filled with plain old tap water.

yeah that was a miss-type it was meant to say for filling the bubble counter...Some places say mineral oil others have a special solution...is this true or is water ok? also how do you keep the solution from running back down the CO2 tubing if you were to say mount it on the outside of your tank....that was what my question really was

some bubble counters have built in check valves, but if they dont, then an extra one will be needed like so:

gas > Regulator > Solenoid (optional) > Needle Valve > Check Valve > Bubble Counter > Check Valve > Diffuser/ Reactor.

water is fine, it might need topping up every few months due to evapouration.
