A Realy Good Question For You All :p

i've NEVER had any issues with the current kind of fishi keep (neons, minnows, harlequins, guppies, endlers, cories, plecs), but i did with Danios, but they bullied everyone in the tank!

go figure lol

Depends on what the community fish are I suppose.

Never going to be a right answer, cos everyone always knows better until it goes wrong.

The right answer would be to keep them seperated, if you look at Discus owners alot and about 50-75% keep them bare bottom tanks to grow them out. About 90% keep them only with there own kind and don't mix them with other fish, especially when you talk about Wayne NG designer Discus that cost $300+ per fish and there are many who have kept Discus with SAE's, Otto's, Cory's(Used as a tank vaccum), Cardinals.... The planted tank...... These are all things we get told to stay away from but yet alot do it anyways untill you start talking Discus that are $300+ ea you will never see another type of fish mixed with them.
The same thing applies with Betta's, someone spends only 10-30 on a fish they will mix them but when they spend $200+ on a betta they house them seperately

And for those people who state that water changes stress fish go look in the Discus area of the forum some people do waterchanges 5 times a day! Some have constant water change systems setup where 100% of the water is changed in a day!
