Can't answer your question but good for you! (In a non-patronising way :look: ) I work in an ex-military hospital that still has a lot of military staff and they're always going away on scuba diving 'courses' and skiing 'courses'. I often used to wonder why people joined the army but it sounds like they have some really great opportunities and get paid for it!
Keeps kids off the streets too! :good:

Yep the armys fun.

Signingup for 3 years first.

then after that i'll either stay or go.
If i stay i'll apply for officer rank ( Higher pay around 27,000 - 30,000 a year... gets higher though! )

There are Soldiers being killed and berried everyday, Famiilys lives in tatters ........ I find your attitude rather disappointing
I Know what you mean.

But its Not all about fighting.

I'll Tell you Why i want to join up

I Dont want to join up to "Fight" For my Country.

I Want to Join up to protect my family and friends. No Matter What. I Will Protect them. And Glady Give my life up doing so.

If this makes you feel better?

"Appart" From the fighting. It Can be fun.

Sorry for upsetting you.

yeah its definate A levels (plural). These need to be in subjects that will relate to what you want to do, the army will sponsor you if they feel you have the ability. I know plenty on Dyslexic people who gained degrees when i did. Dyslexia isn't the end when it comes to education, theres plenty of support out there.

And yet you're the one with the skull and cross bones motif because it's cool? Or are you actually a pirate? Everyone knows the dangers involved but what do you say, don't bother with a potntially very rewarding career and life cos you might be one of the unfortunate ones? I wasn't being flippant just trying to be nice. Didn't realise that was a crime.

I am not sure how you can make comparisons between my comments and my signature they have absolutely nothing to do with each other and frankly I think you are grabbing at straws, NO I am not a pirate but I have had a marine back ground my entire adult life however that has nothing to do with my signature my views or this thread, Oh I do not do cool never have done and never will do.

I will expand on my original comment of:

"There are Soldiers being killed and berried everyday, Famiilys lives in tatters ........ I find your attitude rather disappointing"

It appeared that Knox213's comment:

Keeps kids off the streets too! :good:  to me was a little casual and candid

Yep the armys fun. Sometimes yes but not all the time and if you watch the news for a few minuites you have to recognise that

I found the frivolous cander and the tone of jest of the comment offensive and I must say rather immature considering the situations in the east and the day to day loss of life.

I acknowledge That Joining the Army is a very good idea for any young man or women and I have the up most respect for anyone who joins any arm of the military forces and serves but to think it is a joke is well a flawed view in
IMO. thus I commented.

Very true being in the Army is not all about fighting Knox213 and your comment about protecting your friends and family is a noble one I admire.

But there are soldiers stepping on IED's and getting blown up Every single day its not all fun! Also you are write to expect to enjoy your time in the military with your colleagues but please give it some thought before saying such things this world unfortunatley is not all sweetness and light

Completely agree FHM but one would hope that when we offer our opinion we do so with some consideration and sensitivity, I read his comments while the news was on and they were showing 2 more soldiers being berried they were both fathers, brothers, husbands hero's and good men. I am sure Knox213 did not mean to offend but I felt impelled to comment even though it took the thread slightly of topic.

but i like a bit of action
Be careful what you wish for. Think of your family also and not just yourself.
These are troubled times and take a little time to contemplate what will be the consequences of your actions.
Glossy promo literature is not the true reality.
And on no account Join Up just because your running away from other issues you may or may not have going on in your life.
I don't wish to sound patronizing, I just want to make you aware certain negativities surrounding frontline WARFARE.
Its no joke, it's for real and it's deadly serious.
Choose wisely my friend.
I respect you for whatever decision you make.

I agree with BigC, and with all the other people joining in this thread and telling Knox213 about what a big risk this is. :good:

It sounds like you've done a lot of thinking and I being a year younger than you have no right to tell you what to do. I think you're doing it for a noble cause.

But I certainly wouldn't do it. Yes, I *KNOW* that I am the biggest coward around. No need to elaborate on that. :p But I'd rather work with animals when I get older, and being a female I wouldn't be able to join the army *anyway*, but even so.... People get killed every day on the battle field. Canada has the highest warfare mortality rate.... or something like that, similar, for sure. Idk. Yeah, but.... It's a big decision. ^^; Choose wisely, my friend. :good:

Thank you Big C.
I Have Spoken to my Mom And Dad. And they've Both agreed I Should Join up. War's Not a Game. I Know that.
We all Fight for something after all.
Most people Know my reason.

I agree with BigC, and with all the other people joining in this thread and telling Knox213 about what a big risk this is. :good:

No.

Thank you every-one for your help :good:

the only thing that you see me that has even the slightest sense of warfare is in strategic video games and dreams and blueprint drawings of actually quite build-a-able things (however the dreaming is very unmatched as i can coomplatedly lucid dream ) ill only join if i can become a general straight away!

but enough of that BS, i think that if you ave thught this through enough then GFY! hope you do well out there!

as for the ORIGINAL question (if it has already been answered... o well) they might, just call whoever is in charge of your unit or whatever and ask.

hope things go well in the next 2 years!
