How do these plants reproduce?

The only reason I ask is because a few weeks back I moved some from the front of the tank to the rear.
Now I have two small plants, one about 4" away, and one right a t the front of the tank.

Can they reproduce from broken of roots?

I'll post a pic as soon as my batteries are charged.

Maybe a couple of runners broke off when I moved the plants and they have just settled
there and started to grow.

Mystery solved, time for a scooby snack.
