A Puppy Tale - Remembering Their Mama

I have been watching/reading this forum for a while and was planning on joining earlier...

Last night we had to put our Labrador Daisy down. She was 14 1/2 years old and had suffered a stroke that had paralyzed her larynx. Surgery was an option but they were hesitant about operating on such an old dog.

Looking through our remaining family photos (We lost a lot in the flooding that happened in our state a year ago April) we found the ones from when she had a litter of pups. This is going to be a picture heavy thread! I do not have a scanner so I took pictures of the pictures with my phone. Sorry about the less than perfect quality.

Her mate was a yellow lab.

First - here is the birthing box we had built for her in what used to be our dining room.

Here is her litter - newborn to a few days old.

A few weeks old...

Escaping the puppy box now...mama Daisy gets no relief!

Being weaned - Daisy had to wear clothes to give her a rest from their growing teeth!

Feeding time! We had to use cookie sheets due to the amount of mouths we were feeding!

And now...8 years later...her is one of her pups that my grandparents kept. Her name is Maggie

Thank you for remembering Daisy with me - She was an amazing dog.
Sweetest temperament, a wonderful mama to her pups and a great friend to me since I was 10 years old.

Lovely story albeit it a bit sad.
I lost my last dog just over 2 years ago, she was the great great granddaughter of my first GSP & I too have lots of photos of her from the day she was born.
I still miss her
