looks very nice :)

whats the broad leaf plant you have quite a few of?

ash

haha it is pretty big, it even sticks outta the water lol

I think its called echinodorus bleheri :S

lovely tank. nice healthy plants. im really struggling with my plants at the moment. it seems that its near impossible ( for me at least) to keep plants and discus happy in the same tank cos i have to be careful with the flow . so as a result im constantly fighting with those pesky diatoms

Thanks, Im just getting on teh right side of plants now, I had a real problem with algae smothering them =[ so I stuck a fully grown [beautiful] male bristlenose in there and my he's done a good job!

Think im gonna get some ferts to correct the damage though, getting there!

hmm will have to look into their temp range. thats another problem . my water is too warm for most things..... and who said getting discus was a good idea

lots of stuff can go with discus im sure lol

otos definatley, mine is quite hardyi had two but the other died cuz he got stuck under one of my swords tangled in the roots :( get more than one as my guy in the 55 is a fat SOB and the plants stillhave algae, i might get more but then move them over to the 20 along with my rainbows when the leaf fish arrive.

and doesnt over planting the tank force out algae too?

Decrease the lighting then. Less light means less demands made by the plants. Therefore less flow is needed.
To sets of spray bars horizontally placed at the back of the tank, facing forward gives good circulation and shouldn't upset Discus. Good quality powerheads like Koralias are favoured because they move bodies of water instead of creating single jets of current (which I agree Discus would dislike).

eh I have phospahte problems round my area, tis a nightmare!

I found a SD card so I could get a better pic!
