i have at present fowlr system, 4ft tank

only a scooter blenny and a filefish in the tank

would like to add one or two corals

easy to take care of, and relatively low maintenance, to get experience of having some corals

any ideas of small- medium size corals to start off with? :good:

Mushrooms, Green Star Polyps, Xenia, Zoanthids are all relativley easy to care for

Leathers are pretty indesructable too - I've seen toadstools survive in apalling conditions!! Sinularia dura is a good one, it survived my tanks various mysteroius swings - which can't be said for my Xenia!! That said they all require considerably better conditions than fish!! calcium, magnesium, good lighting, PH, flow, phosphates, alkalinity.... the list goes on for most if you want them to survive more than a year or so. Once you start on corals you are hooked so you might as well get the ideal conditions up and running, coz you'll be bringing back all sorts of things in the poly bags. :hey:

If you have a filefish then that might be a problem because I think most filefish eat corals.
...Unless you mean firefish, which is fine.

These ones were my first ones very easy to take care, good even with the Compact lights

Colt, Button polyps, green star polyps
