To tell u the truth your not going to have to worry about what to feed them cause moving them to a different tank will surely kill them. As long as theres hiding spots they will survive. :D
Not nessesaryly i always move my fry and most of them live as for food i feed finely crushed flake

I always put my fry in a seperate tank and all of them survived... You can buy fry food or just crush flake food up for them to eat. Good luck!

Moving them will be fine. It's been done many times before. Just be sure to take time to acclimate them. Longer then it would take for adult fish, because fry are more sensitive.

Feeding them fry food for the first few weeks will be best for them...Hikari First Bites, or TetraMin Fryfood. Baby Brine Shrimp are also good. Once they are a bit older, and their mouths are bigger, you can move on to finely crushed flakes, and Frozen or Freeze-dried Brine Shrimp, Bloodworms, Daphnia...etc. Just make sure it is small enough for them to eat. BBS is also good through this. Try to feed them at least 3 times a day, too. Fry's stomachs cannot hold as much as the adults, and they empty faster.

If they are going to be in a fry tank, I would recommend a sponge filter, so they do not get sucked up. Or, if you have to have a HOB, you can put a breeder net over the intake valve. Be sure to keep the tank very clean, because fry need good water quality. You can make a little siphon out of airline tubing, so you don't suck them up. Or use a turkey baster. Just check one more time for any fry before you dump the water out. And always remember to use Decholorinator!

Good luck with the babies!

I read somewere that a cheap and fast way to feed your fry for the first weeks is to boil one egg, and the use only the bolied egg yolk to feed them, you simply take a tiny bit of it and disolve it on water, and refrigerate the remaining to keep feeding this.

I personally tryed this the first couple of days, but since I didn't put a filter till after 4 days it started to smell, even with daily water changes  what I can tell you is that none of them have died, I'm currently feeding them crushed flakes but the yolkd did helped when they were even smaller

I always move my fry into a 10 gallon fry tank, and I've never lost any of them. I let them acclimate over night before I release them into the tank. I use a filter with panty hose over the intake valve, a 5 inch bubble wall, a heater with the temp set around 70, some plastic plants, and a thin layer of gravel. I feed them crushed flakes twice a day and do water changes twice a week. They grow nicely and are very healthy. I believe as long as you acclimate them and care for them properly, they'll be just fine if you move them into another tank.

i also move 9/10 of my guppy fry to another, completely different tank, the ones that do die, die because they get eaten, the rest survive the change no prob..

assuming it is relatlively similar water they should be fine...i obviously wouldn't want to toss fry from my planted/bogwood filled tank to a cichilid tank with 8.0 pH or something though
