Hi, I have a 5 gallon aquarium and it has been running for more than 6 months.

I had 3 male guppies, 3 small neons and a small lemon tetra.. then I added another male guppy about 2 weeks ago.

I do partial water change once a week, and all fish, including the new guppy seemed to be doing fine.

There was no fighting or aggressive behavior at all.

But one strange thing was that the new guppy seemed to be indifferent to food.

I feed two types of food tetramin pro crisp and hikari micro waffers.

All other fishes go crazy when it comes to feeding time, but the new guppy just seemed to be indifferent to food, and I never saw him eating food.

Then today, I find him dead...I assume he died due to starvation.. because the water is fine.

I am just wondering..why he was so indifferent to food.

Again, there was no aggression at all, so nobody was picking on him..

He didn't eat both type of food.

Is there a chance that he was a sick fish from the beginning?

But according to my observation, he was doing fine until yesterday.

Right now, all other fishes are doing fine as usual.

I hope you removed him right away. That can be a sign of internal parasites and the other fish feeding on the dead one can become infested that way.
