A Few Questions

1. What is the best way to clean an external filter, or just some tips

2. I saw a "rainbow goby" for sale in a local pet shop, the owner seemed to know very little about them apart from that they grow to about 3-4 inches long and i can find very little info on the web... doe anyone know about these?

3. Now my tank is becoming more of a community tank, should i change my feeding habits? When i just had my zebra danio i fed them once a day varying between live food, flake food and frozen. However now i have more fish, should i just feed more once a day or the same or slightly less twice a day? if so what times are best? (staple dies is flake but i also feed live and frozen daphnia and bloodworm)

1. tips on cleaning external filter. Use tank water to clean your filter, I clean my filters at the same time as doing a water change..2 birds with one stone. Dont clean it too roughly or for too long to avoid removing good bacteria. Only use tank water and your hands to clean the filter media. Give half as much food to the fish as you would normally feed the day after a waterchange- to allow the good bacteia to repopulate the filter.

3.Feeding twice a day is better than one. Flakes and frozen food is a decent diet, personally I wouldn't bother with live food as its quite expensive. Frozen brineshrimp is loved by all fish. You could try feeding your fish some mussels from your local shop, break it up into small pieces with your hands and defrost before feeding. Flake is a good staple food but it is good to have a few types to feed, personally I like to offer my fish some decent spirulina flake often.
